I’m back again with another update of my implementation review of Straight Line – Erica Stone’s Amazon Review Site Assignment Course. I’ve bed doing this for a while now and the goal is to see this though to sales and then to $1000 earning per month and beyond.
It is taking longer than I thought it would to get that elusive first dollar from the site but I am relying on the content to rank without building backlinks – so I guess progress is slower but hopefully one the post are ranking it will be consistent. Although consistent rankings don’t appear to be something I’m see at the moment. Anyway the…
The Results Are In
You can see from the chart that the rankings are not consistent for a number of my review posts. And I had a bit of shock on Friday 13th as the number of visitors from Google dropped to 6 for the day from the usual 15 or so I had been starting to see.
I checked my rankings on the Saturday and a number of the posts had disappeared or lost rankings. Fortunately they do seem to be coming back but not all of them have yet.
The interesting thing is that my overall traffic from Google has continued to increase, for the week to the 20th, despite the fall in ranking of some of the posts. It is only a small increase in number – I am stating from a low base – but it is encouraging.
I am also using Pinplosion tactics to get traffic from Pinterest – not much happening there at the moment. The reason is I have only managed to spend an hour on this in the last couple of weeks so it is to be expected to only be getting next to no traffic from Pinterest – I’m sure it will build as I spend more time. I know you can use Pinterest to get traffic to a site as I have done this before – it is a different type of site and makes a few dollars a month from the traffic (but this is because of the site).
I did see some a few more clicks to Amazon but no sales yet – so the frustrating wait continues.
I did get two more review posts published and one of them is ranking at number 18 for the review keyword – just needs another 8 places or so to go. Although I’m getting faster at writing review posts I’m still not fast enough to write more than one a week – there is a fair bit of research needed to write these posts including reading customer reviews and product manuals as well as the writing, editing and posting.
Apart from my horror on the Friday the 13th the stats indicate that the site is progressing in the right direction even if it is a slow process.
This is getting a bit repetitive, like I mentioned in my previous update, but my next steps for this Straight line case study is to keep following the instructions – writing more content and updating the social media sites that I’ve posted new content plus take some more Pinplosion actions and being patient and determined. Oh, and stay focused and don’t get distracted (except for some re-creation).
I’ll be posting my next update on this in 2 weeks time.
